Dear colleagues,

It is with a mixture of emotions that we announce the retirement of Colleen Clark from her position at Algonquin College Community Employment Services (CES) in Perth. After dedicating more than 30 years to serving our community through various employment programs, Colleen will be embarking on a well-deserved new chapter in her life — her last day will be April 30, 2024.

Colleen has been a cornerstone of the CES team, where she has witnessed and adapted to numerous transitions in our employment services, from Futures and Job Connect to Employment Ontario and the current Integrated Employment Services. Her ability to navigate these changes while providing unwavering support and guidance to countless individuals is nothing short of remarkable. In 2023, Colleen's contributions were rightly recognized when she received the President's Star Award. This award was a testament to her impact not only on the lives of those she has helped directly but also on our entire community. Colleen has been that rare light in times of uncertainty, providing reassurance and optimism to those facing job loss, and offering practical help that spans from securing employment to exploring further education opportunities.

Colleen's dedication extends beyond her professional life. She is an active volunteer at her local Royal Canadian Legion branch, a fervent planner of sunny getaways and a cherished friend and family member. As Colleen transitions into retirement, she leaves behind a legacy of kindness, professionalism and an unrelenting commitment to service. While we will greatly miss her presence, expertise and the daily dose of positivity she brings to our work environment, we are excited for her as she steps into this new phase of life, filled with more time for her passions and loved ones.
